Question on Registration of Birth Abroad

I would appreciate if you clarify the procedure of Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA).
I am a Naturalized US Citizen of Indian origin and my wife is a Indian GC holder. We are planning to have the Delivery for my wife in Chennai India in August. I understand I can transmit citizenship to this newborn and I satisfy all the conditions for that.
My questions are
1. Within how many days/months of birth should the application for CRBA and US Passport be made?
2. If not longer timeframe can I just apply for CRBA and apply passport at a later date. Within how many days/months after CRBA should passport application be made?
3. Does the kid become US Citizen on application of CRBA or on application of US passport.
4. Is there any requirement for the kid to enter US within a particular period to activate Citizenship (like the one for Immigrant Visa)?

Please clarify.

Your child will be a citizen at birth. There is no absolute time limit for registering the birth, but you should do so promptly. Also, you should apply for the child's US passport promptly.
