Thread: Can I make copies double-sided instead of one sided?

Default Can I make copies double-sided instead of one sided?

This might be silly question – but I still need to know the answer. I am preparing documents for interview (utility bills, statements etc) and I was wondering can I make copies on both sides of the paper instead just on front? This will greatly reduce the amount of papers that I have to carry.

Every country has their rules and I just wanted to double check.

You can, but they would prefer that you not do so. Double sided copies, once put in the file, are harder to read.

    Thank you Ron.

I understand, but how am I going to carry all of those originals and copies of each original to the interview? They can't fit in one regular messenger bag.

All of those are different utility bills statements for 12 months of calendar year. Why it would be hard for them to read? They are in chronological order.

Are they interested only in confirming my name and address, correct? I already copied them double-sided. Should I copy them one sided, Ron?

    Jason,

You got to do what you got to do.....Buy a bigger bag, envelope....etc.....it's just one day. Copying them double sided sometime is harder to read because the ink may bleed though from both sides. It may be convenient for you to do it double-sided but do you want to have to make an additional wasted trip just to carry in one- sided copies in the future. Do whatever you have to do to avoid having to go back go back there for foolishness

Did they ask for utility bills? If they didn't, there is no need to carry them
They only asked for tax returns in my case. And I got tax transcripts from IRS, so I didn't need to make copies of anything.
The problem with double-sided copies is that everything is put in a folder, and depending on how the double-sided copies are made, the second side may end up being upside-down. It also is harder to make notes on the right side of a folder.
All my stuff fit nicely into one normal bag.
    I am not a lawyer.
