Thread: I-131 application

    Default I-131 application

What is the purpose of I-131 application? I belive that person can stay outside for more than one year and less than 2 years.

My company applies I-131 every time some one goes for short trip foreign assignment (3-4 months etc). Company wants to make sure that employee does not get any problem.

But if employee cmes back in 4 months, what happnes to I-131? Does it stiil valid? Or it needs to be cancelled?

Can some one make a N-400 (Citizenship) application before I-131 period is expired? I-131 application tells USCIS that person is indented stay outside US. But person is in US and makes Citizenship application claiming that his intension is stay in US. Will that contradict the I-131 appliaction?

In my case company has applied for I-131 and I am planning for N-400 application. I want to make sure that I-131 apllication should not create any issue for me.

    Any information on this topic?

    I need quick help.

    Thanks

    Rajaram

A re-entry permit remains valid for multiple entries until it expires (after two years). Naturalization processing is only concerned with actual absences, not proposed absences, so don't worry.
