Default alien receipt card form 1-557 jan 1977

I'm 33 yrs od age, came to the US legally with a permanent residency that was aquired by my parents who now happen to be citizens. I went to 4th grade and went on to highschool, graduated and the US, live with my fiancee and also have a child born here in the US, and this country is all I know. I just recently found out that my permanent resident card may have to be updated with a new pic of me as a grown up. I am able to work for as long as I live here and I never left the country. Can I apply for a citinzenship as I am or do I have to update my pic on my permanent resident card?

At my age I never even thought abou tit till recently, how naive of me. Please any info is helpfull.

You need to update your card no matter what else you decide to do. Updating is simple. Just do an e-filing of an I-90 and you will have your new card within a couple of weeks.

If you wish to apply for citizenship, you may do so at any time.

    Ron,
Can I skip getting the I-90 and go directly to applying for the us citizenship papers? I just didn't understand if when you said "anytime" you meant after i update my a card or anytime as in now without updating it. I have the actual card and its in a safe place, I assume I can brind this along with my drivers license?

The CIS is going to want to see a current green card. You can try to file without updating it, but understand that the officer may suspend your processing at the interview and make you file an I-90 before proceeding further.
