One of the pro-immigration advocacy groups we are in touch with, Partnership for a New American Economy ( http://www.renewoureconomy.org/), is spreading awareness about positive role of immigrants as a tool to build momentum for immigration reform in 2017. Part of that effort is as described below in their words: We're tasking a team of journalists with us for finding powerful immigration stories in key states/districts and getting the relevant individuals to record short videos to send to members of congress. We'll also use these videos to populate an interactive advocacy map we're building that will also have local economic data on why immigration matters to each district (how many businesses immigrants started in the district, how many people they're employing, how much they're paying in taxes, etc.). We're also building the technology to allow you to record a video on your phone and have it immediately sent to your member of congress, sent to the interactive map, and queued up in a Thunderclap-like tool that will let us release stories en masse when a bill is moving. They have asked fr our help in finding the right stories. They need people all over the country, but they are particularly interested in any backlogged folks who are based in any of the following states: West Coast: WA, ID, NV, CA Southwest: TX, UT, CO, AZ, NM, OK, LA Southeast: FL, GA, AL, TN, NC Midwest: IA, IL, MI, WI, AL Northeast: OH, VA, PA, NJ, NY, NH You can directly write to Yelena at email@example.com if you are willing to tell your immigration story. Feel free to copy firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions or concerns, we will be happy to address them. Fight for backlogged EB is going to be long drawn and we need to use all efforts including publicity. Please join this effort.
