Well this is possible.Iam following these sites for past 4-5 years and I never saw them having an action item 'Prepare docs' ever. Also if a rule is implemented then it is there for ever right? You can apply this month or next month or next year. This is my perspective.

It can also happen in 2 years or 5 years - just like the H4 rule

The only difference is this is directed by POTUS so expectation is sooner before Mr.O leave office.

Rule will forever but what happens if someone sue and get injunction..those have applied will continue with the new status and USCIS will certainly stop accepting new applications. This time i hope changes come through visa bulletin so it depends whether its going to stay for ever for short window ..who knows in current scenario..every group sue's whatever if its good or bad..no one cares..

Despite the inflated egos and abrasive mannerism of IV office holders, specially ones who post messages on forum and social media, they seem to have a some idea of whats happening behind the scene mostly in the Capitol hill and WH. Their advocacy efforts have also been consistent so I will not write off what they have to say about being prepared for some "event" which may result in early filing of AOS (weather its recapture or I140 related rule)

I'm only addressing the question of a background briefing. I am pretty sure that AILA would have been included had such a briefing occurred. Since they haven't put out anything, I have serious doubts that such a briefing took place.

Until few months ago IV claiming that filing I-485 needed congressional approval. Now they need donations and hence these rumors.

Let's not worry about other people's alleged motivations. We have plenty to discuss otherwise.

Ron, is Visa Revalidation being discussed? Is it off the table, or is it under review like recapture and reinterpretation of statute?

I am not a fan of IV, but I definitely believe they have more access to the WH than AILA has. Just the way they conduct themselves is pissy. Having got wind of Filing for AOS without Visa numbers, Re-Capture and other actions, they have quickly moved to own those actions, although they have previously always maintained that those actions were not possible with EO.

IV is definitely pissy.. they were fast to get the message out.. after rejecting the idea for months.. but no matter what.. they cant take credit .. the credit has to be given and no one gives them any credit.. the closes they came to fame was 3012 or something law.. H4 ead .. may be has some validity to IV.. but nothing confirmed..
I hope we hear something soon.. there is lot of political overhead and "bucket"ing going around.. lets see what happens.. next 30 days should reveal plans..
