    Hello,
My parents had originally agreed to apply for a Green card about 7 yrs (2008-09) ago. They changed their mind later as they wanted to still be independent.
But before changing their mind, my Father had gotten affidavits (since he did not have a birth or marriage certificate - those days they did not have proper records or they were lost because of natural disaster like flood) from living relatives about his and his wife's birth and marriage.
Now, they are ready for the GC application process as they are older and less able to live independently.
Would the affidavits taken 7-8 yrs be still valid today (2016 or future) as one of the relatives named in the affidavit has died ? or a new affidavit would be needed.
    Please advise,
    Thank you in advance.
