MAVNI wife

    Hello,
    I am the wife of a MAVNI soldier currently in his AIT.He will be taking his oath next week.
    Can you please tell me what forms do I need to submit for my GC process?
    I am currently listed as his dependent and unemployed.
    We were both born in India.
    I do have a valid H1 bt I got laid off earlier this year .
    Do I need to lawyer up?

    "Lawyer up" is a term usually associated with criminal defendants asking for legal representation. Irrespective of that, I don't think that you necessarily need a lawyer. Once your husband is naturalized, he needs to file an I-130 on your behalf. At that same time, and in the same package, you need to file an I-485. You should ask for employment authorization (I-765) and travel permission (I-131) at the same time. Don't leave the country until you get your green card.
