No problem. This isn't exactly a highly focused thread.
IMHO, The administration may not bite the pre-registration bullet because of the Texas ruling.
I think the Perez case gave them all the coverage they need on that score.
Ok. My sense is that the pre-registration will not be easily digested by people like Sessions and Grassley.
Let them pass legislation dealing with it.
I'm not sure anything inmigration related goes down well with Sen.Grassley and Sessions. I didn't hear too many noices when it came to H4 EAD recently... Or perhaps they've been screaming their heads off for a long time and I've heard. Either way, in both cases, the receipients or beneficiaries already have gone through a labor certification and application process and waiting in line. What is the opposition exactly besides xenophobia?
And you are saying that based on....???
The Senate Judiciary committee is having a hearing on the I^2 bill today...Let's see what comes through http://www.judiciary.senate.gov/mee...ms-needed-to-protect-skilled-american-workers
I suppose this is a pre-cursor to the I Squared and/or HR 213. They are focusing on the abuse aspect of the H-1B. If you read an earlier testimony by Ron Hira, it's mostly about how to plug the loop holes, 'consultancy employers' etc -here is his earlier testmony on S 744 (CIR) back in 2013 - http://www.epi.org/publication/testimony-border-security-economic-opportunity/
I 'd assume he and others are going to rehash the same content with updated data/numbers
this may be off topic but there are definitely some elements in immigrant community that take advantage and skirt the rules, especially the whole EVC model has lot of holes and has a lot of scams.
back to the topic of listening session - do they send out like an agenda for meetings prior to these calls??
They ask to register, but that's about it. Never received any agenda. That's why it is important that some of us attend it, who can during work hours to hear what they have to say. There will not be any announcements but maybe some more clarifications on Point 4 of Immigration Action. Only H4 EAD has happened so far.
Thanks KKz... just wondered if they give like timeframes for discussion of topics..
They will never give any timeframes.
How do I join this session?
Go to the top of this thread and you should find an email address to use to register.
