    Hi Ron,

If someone loses job while on h1b, how long can one typically stay to search another job. Is it ok if someone stays for ~2 months, finds another job, gets h1b transferred and leaves country to get stamping?

    Thanks,
    Vishal

You should get new job within 10 days of receiving last paycheck from your previous employer.

Let's say someone does not get job in 10 days, stays for 2 months and gets a job. What happens then?

Technically you are out of status the day you loose your job and have no pay check. You have 10 days to leave the country. If you stay 2 months, you are illegal

No, you are illegal only if you stay beyond I-94 last date. You are out of status. But 2 months is too long, your future visas are likely to be rejected.
