    Ron,
My H1b visa is stamped until July 2017.I have got my new h1b extension(I-797) until January 2019.My current job will require me to go to Mexico frequently.I have scheduled my h1b visa stamping in Tijuana next month. However I have a question:
In case if I don't get my H1b stamped from Tijuana can I still come back to US based on my valid visa or I have to go back to my home country to get H1b stamped and them I can enter US again? Please help me.Thanks in advance.

Visa officers often cancels the existing visa as soon as they receive the application.
I have been advised in past by some immigration lawyers to put a note on existing visa requesting them not to cancel it until the new visa is granted.
I have not tried that approach though.

Are you saying that if I don't get my visa stamped from Tijuana my existing visa will be cancelled too?
