    Hi Ron,

I 'm working as a consultant and my H1-b is going to be expire in 5 months, I have prepared all the documents for extension and about to submit to my employer.

Today I come to know that by end of the year my client is moving only IT department to another location with in 5-10 miles of the city & same MSA. Since I 'm part of the It department I also have to move. My prime vendor is same and client is same and client is changing to the new location just to have an extra space.

My question is after I get an extension approve do I need to file an Amendment with the new location address?

You may file the extension now and you don't need an amendment.

Ron , I am in different situation , need your advice. I am moving to a different client /Location and my H1b is about expire in 3 months. Should I file for H1b amendment and Extension or just the extension should be fine enough?

Amendment and extension can be filed together in same petition, just additional checkbox. See below:

Based on what you have written, you clearly need an amendment as well as an extension. They can be combined into one petition.
