    Hello,

I am currently working for a Company A. Had first H1b from 2008-2011, second H1b from 2011-2014 and third currently active from 2014 thru Sept 2017. My I140 is approved with priority date in 2012.

    1) I am doing a part time MBA and planning on switching jobs in April 2017. If I change jobs at that time, with my current H1b due to expire in Sept 2017, would the new company's H1b petition be approved only till Sept 2017 or would it be granted from say, April 2017 to 2020?

    2) Also, I am assuming I can transfer my priority date with me to Company B so that when they file for I140 my priority date of 2012 would be carried over?

    Thanks in advanced!!

DonDraper: Thanks for your reply. For answer 1, would the new H1b by company B will have validity only until expiration of my current H1b (in this case sept 2017) or will be for a fresh 3 year?

If an extension is filed, you will get 3 years
