Thread: Travelling after interview

  1. #1

    Thumbs up Travelling after interview

I appeared for my interview and citizenship test 30 days back. I have not heard from them. Can I leave the country for some months or should I apply for a reentry permit before leaving? Do I have to have a parole or a permit in hand before leaving?

Until the oath, you are still a PR, so all the rules for PRs apply.
You don't need any special permit to travel, but you need to make sure that you don't break the naturalization requirements, like continuous residence and physical presence.
A reentry permit has nothing to do with naturalization. It just helps you to keep the GC in case of a long absence.
    I am not a lawyer.
